SiestaScore

Why Siesta Score exists

Booking a hotel for work is nothing like booking one for a holiday. If you have a nine o'clock meeting tomorrow, what matters is not the pool: it is whether the bin lorry passes under your window at five.

Booking platforms already have a “quiet hotel” filter. The hotel fills it in itself. Nobody checks it. We do the opposite: we measure each hotel's night noise from the official maps city councils are required to publish under EU law, and add what surrounds it — major roads, surface railways, hospitals and late-night venues.

We cover every hotel in the city, not a selection. That includes the ones that score badly. A search engine that only shows good hotels is not a search engine, it is a catalogue.

What we measure and what we don't

The Siesta Score measures noise, nothing else. It does not measure whether the bed is comfortable or the breakfast good: others already cover that. Mattress, pillow, blackout and climate control appear as facts and filters, always with their origin: declared by the hotel, confirmed by the hotel, or verified with a document. Where there is no data, the page says so.

How this is paid for

With affiliate commission when you book through one of our links. It costs you nothing extra, and no hotel pays us to appear, or to appear higher. The score comes from a public formula and no hotel can change it.

Where we are

We cover Madrid, Barcelona and Paris with every registered hotel in each city. Next come Western Europe's trade-fair and business cities. If you find a hotel scored wrongly, write to us: corrections are applied to the pipeline, not to the individual hotel, so the mistake does not repeat.
